[Hanoi] Business Workshop: Understanding and Negotiating Commercial Contracts
Some of the top requirements of businesses and organizations include basic understanding of contracts, basic drafting skills, first-class negotiating skills and a strong sense of commercial awareness with regards to commercial contracts.
Many of our employees have certificates proving that they can speak and write English very well however they lack the technical English required for understanding or negotiating basic commercial contracts
The aim of the this introductory seminar is to build the basis and skills required by to understand the essential basics of commercial contracts and related vocabulary.
A company officer requires a general knowledge of a client’s business and an understanding of the wider international environment in which your client’s business operates an ability to look at situations from a commercial point of view.
Your clients will require knowledge and advice that will enable them to get the best possible result for their business within the existing commercial and legal framework. This means an understanding of what makes a particular business successful and appreciating the factors, including a basic understanding of legal English skills, that influence that success.
This short 3-hour seminar will be conducted in English and requires no prior knowledge of law. It will introduce a general overview in the following areas:
- Basic contract negotiations
- Pre-contractual documents
- Basic commercial contracts and related vocabulary

Mr. Thomas G. Giglione – Commercial Mediator | Arbitrator | Founder and Director of Global Education Academy
Thomas G. Giglione is the official convener for the 8th Asia Pacific Mediation Forum Conference and is on the executive committee of the APMF. Thomas is also a guest lecturer at Hanoi Law University teaching 4th-year law students negotiation and lawyering skills that are majoring in International Trade and Business Law.
He has over 20 years of working experience as a mediation trainer, commercial mediator and institutional arbitrator. Thomas G. Giglione is an accomplished dispute resolution professional who has mediated in a wide range of commercial cases including class action matters, primarily employment, construction, regulatory, consumer, general contract and business disputes as court appointed Roster mediator for the Supreme Court of Ontario, Canada. He offers online mediation services for the Virtual Courthouse and at Mediation Solutions.
Thomas has been a guest lecturer at the Judicial Academy of Vietnam and has provided mediation training at the Judicial Academy and also for legal officers at the Ministry of Justice of Vietnam. Thomas was invited to Vietnam in 2015 to give training to the lecturers of the Judicial Academy.
