European Night was previously known as NetPlus, a concept created and introduced by DBAV’s former executive director Hyunju Park to provide an exclusive platform to connect over 4000 EuroCham members in September 2012. While EuroCham cancelled their Monthly Drinks due to low responses and all business associations (BAs) were struggling to gather their members to Monthly Drinks. Hyunju put the idea forward to EuroCham's partnering BAs to work together and synergize each other. The key driving NetPlus’ successful concept is that each BA takes turn to organize NetPlus with the support of the rest of BAs. Each BA will organize once a year and this offers total five editions of NetPlus throughout the year. It takes place in a new chic different venue determined by the organizing BA. Organising BA takes the lead with their unique national touch, fun and partnering BAs support to invite their members. Five participating BAs are DBAV (Dutch Business Association Vietnam), BeLuxCham (Belgium Chamber of Commerce), CCIFV (French Chamber of Commerce), GBA (German Business Association) and ICHAM (Italian Chamber of Commerce).
DBAV launched the first edition of NetPlus on 21 September 2012 in Purple Jade Bar, InterContinental Saigon Asiana Hotel, attracting more than 250 EuroCham members despite the stormy weather. Along with it, the event also launched Dutch Open 2012; participants had a chance to put a few balls, photo opportunities and many valuable sponsored gifts. Many companies have been participated in sponsoring their goods and services through NetPlus and it is getting more and more popular by their best exposure to the right level of guests.
