Inclusion and the benefit of diversity at work. How it works in Vietnam?

What does Diversity in workplace mean? How successful organizations embrace diversity and inclusion to strengthen their culture and reach higher success?

In this fast-pacing market, having and being able to manage diversity and inclusion in the workplace can add significant value to organizations. One of the great advantages is that you can tackle a problem from a rich variety of viewpoints while still having a united workforce regardless of their differences in terms of gender, nationality, race, age, education background, etc.

Therefore, we proudly introduce to you the topic of this breakfast seminar – “Inclusion and the benefit of diversity at work. How it works in Vietnam?”, co-hosted by AmCham HR Committee and EuroCham HR & Training Committee. Throughout this 2.5 hour session, different senior leaders in many industries will share with you their thoughts and experiences about the benefits of diversity, challenges that organizations can face when promoting diversity at the workplace and more.

Speaker and Panelists

Mr. Jojy Ovelil leads Intel’s IT group in Vietnam, delivering IT services to Intel’s factory and support groups in Ho Chi Minh City. Over the last 20 years, Jojy has held various leadership and technology management roles in a global manufacturing and engineering IT setting. He has worked in India, the Philippines, Malaysia, the US and now, in Vietnam. Jojy graduated with an MSE in Industrial Engineering, and an MBA, from Arizona State University.

Ms. Ngo Hong Mai is Director, Projects and Quality, Zuellig Pharma Vietnam. She has over eighteen years working experience for one of largest service provider in healthcare industry, involvement in implementation of many service improvement initiatives, a member of the company’s senior management board.
Mai holds a B.A in Financial and Monetary Trading from University of Economics, HCMC  and a MBA from University of Hawaii, Shidler College of Business, graduated with Outstanding Scholastic Achievement.

Mr. David Fitzgerald is the head of the Vietnam tax and legal services practice of PwC Vietnam.  He also leads the firms Diversity & Inclusion program.
The PwC Vietnam Diversity & Inclusion program aims to create value for our people and our clients by promoting diversity, fostering a culture of inclusion, and supporting a healthy work life balance.  Areas to which we pay particular attention are gender, disability and LGBT.

Ms. Cao, Do Xuan Uyen is an Industrial Engineering Manager at Intel Vietnam, in charge of strategic and tactical capacity and capital planning, defining ramping strategy, equipment acquirement and production game plan for the site. Uyen has experience in quality assurance, modeling and simulation, and productivity improvement. She holds a Bachelor Degree in Chemical-Food Engineering from Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology, Vietnam and a Master Degree in Industrial Engineering from Purdue University, USA.
