East-West Trade, a leading partner of the Dutch government, is looking for a Senior Manager Trade Missions and Trade Shows. In this strategic and operational role, you will lead projects and play an active role in acquisition and networking to support Dutch companies worldwide.

Over East-West Trade
East-West Trade is based in The Hague and is a specialist in international trade promotion. We support Dutch companies in their international growth through trade promotion activities and market development worldwide. As one of the exclusive framework contractors of the Dutch government, we are responsible for organizing trade missions and Dutch pavilions to and from Africa. In addition, we carry out trade promotion activities for the private sector, with a focus on emerging markets worldwide, especially within the Agri&Food sector.

Our projects contribute to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), including:

• SDG 2: Zero Hunger – Promoting food security, better nutrition and sustainable agriculture.
• SDG 6: Clean Water and Sanitation – Supporting sustainable water management, essential for agricultural development.
• SDG 12: Responsible Consumption and Production – Promoting sustainable business practices.
• SDG 13: Climate action – Supporting climate-resilient agriculture and emission reduction.
• SDG 15: Life on Land – Promoting sustainable land use and biodiversity conservation.

Your Role
As Senior Manager Trade Missions and Trade Fairs, you combine strategic project management with a proactive acquisition role. You will work on projects that make an impact in emerging markets worldwide, with an emphasis on sustainability and innovation within the Agri&Food sector.
 

What will you do?

Project management:

• Organizing and managing trade missions and Dutch pavilions at international trade fairs, with a focus on the Agri&Food sector and markets worldwide.
• Coordinating logistics, marketing and communication around trade fairs and missions.
• Ensuring that projects contribute to sustainable development and economic growth.

Acquisition:

• Proactively approach companies through phone calls, emails and face-to-face meetings to participate in trade missions and trade shows.
• Networking at national and international events and trade shows to acquire new customers and strengthen relationships.
• Identifying opportunities in emerging markets and translating them into concrete collaborations.

Relationship management:

• Maintaining and expanding relationships with companies, government agencies and international partners, with a strong emphasis on the Agri & Food sector.
• Facilitating collaborations between Dutch companies and local partners in markets worldwide.

Strategic Planning:

• Developing innovative projects aimed at market access, sustainable trade and poverty reduction in emerging markets worldwide.
• Identifying trends and opportunities within the Agri & Food sector and translating them into valuable projects.

Networks:

• Representing East-West Trade during international trade fairs, trade missions and network meetings.
• Ensuring visibility and positioning of East-West Trade as a market leader in international trade promotion.

Your Profile
We are looking for an entrepreneurial professional with a hands-on mentality and excellent communication skills. You are:

• Experienced: At least 5 years of work experience in project management, acquisition or international trade.
• Strong communication skills: Fluent in Dutch and English, both orally and in writing (native-level Dutch required). Knowledge of French is a great asset, and Spanish is considered a plus.
• Flexible and responsible: You don't have a 9-to-5 mentality and are willing to work when the work requires it. You feel responsible for your tasks and are committed to making projects a success.
• Result-oriented: Driven to acquire new customers and successfully complete impactful projects.
• Proactive: Not afraid to call companies or visit events to create new opportunities.
• Organizational: Strong in planning and coordinating complex projects.
• Interested in the Agri&Food sector: A strong interest and passion for the sector and the role it plays in global sustainability is important.
