Established in 1991, HEINEKEN Vietnam is a subsidiary of HEINEKEN, the world’s most international brewer originated in the Netherlands. Over many decades, HEINEKEN has proved a strong growth globally with its expansion to the world. In particular, HEINEKEN Vietnam has grown to be the second largest brewer in Vietnam with more than 3,500 employees from a humble number which was 20 at the beginning in Vietnam.
The most sustainable business in Vietnam
HEINEKEN Vietnam sets for themselves very clear and efficient key initiatives of sustainability for people, prosperity and the planet. It has been recognised as the most sustainable business in Vietnam by the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) based on the annual Corporate Sustainability Index.
HEINEKEN Vietnam is committed to improving the quality of life of all people across its value chain. HEINEKEN organised several campaigns and programmes such as When You Drive Never Drink (WYDND), Community Water Programme called 1 Minute Less for Million Smiles in order to raise people’s awareness in improving well-being of themselves as well as the community. Regarding protecting the planet, HEINEKEN is championing carbon-neutrality through flagship projects in Vung Tau, Da Nang and Ho Chi Minh.
HEINEKEN Vietnam has been part of many Vietnamese traditional events. For instance, HEINEKEN organised Vietnam Warm Spring Program in order to help bring joy to underprivileged communities for Tet with 4,800 gift sets to needy families in 28 locations across Vietnam. In addition, Tiger beer, which is part of HEINEKEN, contributed to the joy of more than 70,000 football lovers at Nguyen Hue pedestrian street in the role of a sponsor.
Relationship to DBAV
Alexander Koch, who is Managing Director of HEINEKEN Vietnam, is also the Chairman of Dutch Business Association in Vietnam (DBAV). He is supporting DBAV on its development from 2020.
In November 1, 2019 DBAV also had a field trip to Heineken Vietnam brewery to learn from the brand’s management about product quality control, food technology and waste water treatment process. It is an honour for DBAV to have Heineken as a premium sponsor from 2020.
