DBAV Annual General Meeting 2024

On Monday, February 05th, the Dutch Business Association Vietnam (DBAV) conducted its Annual General Meeting (AGM). Reflecting on a year of achievements and laying out a strategic roadmap for the future, the AGM brought together our community. The evening affirmed our commitment to fostering business relations between Vietnam and the Netherlands. 

In 2023, DBAV experienced remarkable growth, with membership numbers soaring by 31% from 130 to ~170 excluding the 30 SMEs participating in our Ready to Export (R2E) program. 

DBAV successfully organised over 35 events and held 15+ collaborative activities. These events have been instrumental in promoting networking, knowledge sharing, and strengthening the business community. We ramped up our communication efforts, evidenced by a 19% increase in followers on our DBAV LinkedIn page. Furthermore, our mid-year survey revealed an average 86/100, with an eye popping  93/100 NPS for our communication efforts. The feedback from our members was to organise more small sized industry / sector specific events. Our response to this has been DBAV Spotlight: small industry-specific roundtables regarding, for example, logistics, coffee, agribusiness, and CFOs in FMCG.

For 2024, we see an exciting year. Key events include the Royal couple's visit, celebrating the 25th anniversary of DBAV, and entering the final year of the R2E program. These milestones are set to further strengthen our community and enhance our position in the Vietnam-Netherlands business environment.

The AGM marked a transition in our Board of Directors, with the departure of our esteemed Treasurer, Trung Le Quoc. We extend our gratitude to Trung for his invaluable contributions and welcome Joris van Tienen as a new member of our Board of Directors. We concluded  the AGM with a tribute to our departing Executive Director, Guido van Rooy, who has been leading the DBAV towards a new profile and position in the Vietnamese business world. A thank you-speech from Chairman Alexander Koch, as well as video messages from key DBAV members and stakeholders were presented, marking a memorable end to the meeting.
