Reflecting on 2025, the Chairman emphasized that despite global economic volatility, the business community maintained strong confidence in Ho Chi Minh City as a strategic investment destination. This commitment helped sustain positive growth momentum, with the city’s economic scale estimated at USD 123 billion (over VND 3 quadrillion) — accounting for nearly one quarter of Vietnam’s national GDP and reaffirming its role as the country’s economic engine.

Key milestones highlighted during the dialogue included:

  • The launch and successful operation of Metro Line 1 (Ben Thanh – Suoi Tien), a 19.7 km urban railway with 14 stations serving approximately 150,000–200,000 passengers daily — a major step forward in modern urban mobility;
  • The 50-year reunification celebration, marking an important historical milestone in the city’s development journey;
  • GRDP growth exceeding 8%, further solidifying Ho Chi Minh City’s position as Vietnam’s leading economic hub.

Looking ahead to 2026, the first year of a new development phase — the city has set ambitious goals, including achieving double-digit growth, developing an international financial center, accelerating digital and green economic transformation, and building a modern, integrated infrastructure system.

Chairman Nguyen Van Duoc reaffirmed the city’s commitment to shifting toward modern governance, improving transparency and stability in policies, and proactively addressing challenges faced by businesses. He emphasized that enterprise development remains the driving force of the city’s growth, and that business success is a key measure of effective governance.

DBAV and the Dutch business community remain committed to supporting this journey. Through continued cooperation with city authorities, local enterprises, and international partners, we look forward to contributing to a competitive, sustainable, and future-ready business environment in Ho Chi Minh City.
